Mr. Adam Logan Girvin December 06, 1980 - August 30, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Dodsworth & Brown Funeral Home (Ancaster Chapel) Peacefully at home, on August 30th, 2005, surrounded by his family and friends, our beloved son and brother passed away, at the age of 24 years, after a heroic battle against cancer. Dearly loved son of William Donald and Nancy Girvin of Ancaster, and younger brother of Brett of Erin Ontario and Ryan of Hamilton. Adam was predeceased by his grandparents, William and Mary Girvin and Samuel and Jean English. He is survived by his aunts and uncles: Frank and Betty English, Bill and Margaret English, Lynda and Alan Switzer and David Girvin and their families. Our thanks are extended to Dr. J Knox of Princess Margaret Hospital; Dr. R. Iyer of Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo; Dr. Tanaguchi, Dr. J. Marshall and the GI team and Dr. J. Rawlinson and Dr. Marcaccio and the nursing and technical staff at McMaster Hospital where Adam was known as “The Trooper”. Special thanks to the CCAC and their VON nurses Alice Van Dyk and Greg Gessman, their OT Jennifer Lee, and their palliative care team of Dr. Samantha Winemaker and Teri Crockford who provided peace and comfort to Adam and his family through both their medical skills and their compassion. Thank you also to our family physician Dr. K. Trinh and his staff. Many, many thanks to our family, friends, and neighbours for their support and caring, especially Nancy March, Lynda Switzer and the Ratnayake and Gallacher families. We cannot express enough our appreciation and love to Jan and Brian Gallacher for their endless support, day and night, over the last year. They have truly been a pillar of strength to our family through these times. Adam was a graduate of Ancaster High School and the “Broadcasting - Television and Communications Media” program at Mohawk College and was proud to be an employee of CH-TV in Hamilton. The family will receive friends at the DODSWORTH & BROWN funeral home, ANCASTER CHAPEL, 378 Wilson St. East, 905-648-3852 on Sunday, September 4, from 6 - 9 p.m. Funeral Service on Monday, September 5, at 1:30 p.m., from St. John’s Anglican Church, 272 Wilson Street East (at Halson St.) Ancaster, On. Cremation to follow. If desired, donations may be sent to Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation, 610 University Ave., Toronto ON, M5G 2M9, for G.I. Cancer Research - attn: Dr. J.
