MATHESON, VERNON HOWLAND Vernon Matheson passed away at home in Lakeville Corner, NB on Wednesday, December 1st, 2004. Born in New Glasglow, NS, he was the son of the late George and Hazel (Coman) Matheson, and the wife of Carletta Matheson. Survived by his wife Carletta; sons, Derrick of Trenton ON, Thomas (Tom) of Lakeville Corner, NB and David (Karen) of Oromocto, NB, brothers, Charles (Bonnie) of Trenton NS, George and family Matheson of Alberta and Phillip McCullen of New Glasglow, NS, and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Vernon was a member of the Canadian Forces for 36 years, retiring at the rank of Sgt. Serving with 8th, Hussars and RCD, posting in Germany and across Canada. He was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 43 Trenton, Nova Scotia. Visitation will be held at the Oromocto Select Community Funeral Home on Thursday, December 2nd, 2004 from 7-9 pm and Friday December 3rd, 2004 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 93 will hold a tribute service at the funeral home Friday evening at 7:00 pm. The funeral service will be held at Oromocto Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, December 4th, 2004 at 2:00 pm. Rev. Paul Thompson will officiate. Interment will be in the Byno Cemetery Lakeville Corner. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation. www.oromoctofh.com
