Mrs. Annie Luella Bird (née Gamble) February 22, 1924 - December 01, 2004 Funeral arrangements by Campbell's Funeral Home Annie Luella Bird age 80, of Amherst passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 1, 2004 at Cumberland Regional Health Care Center, Upper Nappan, N.S. Born in Amherst, she was a daughter of the late Ernest and Edith (Teed) Gamble. During World War II Annie served in the Canadian Armed Forces in Ottawa. After discharge she returned to Amherst where she married and raised her family. She was a member of the Brookdale Card Club and the Amherst Golden Years Society. Annie is survived by a daughter Norma Wood of New Jersey, USA and a son Wayne Bird of Brookdale, N.S. and two grandchildren Melanie and Andrew Wood and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Norman, son in law Harold Wood, and as the last surviving member of her immediate family her brothers Harry, Jack and sisters Marnie, Helen and Violet. Cremation has taken place. A private graveside service will take place at a later date. Donations in her memory may be made to the Cumberland Regional Health Care Foundation.
