SPENCER— David W. Provo, Sr., 62, of 7 Crestwood Ave., died Saturday, Dec. 24 at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester after a long illness. He leaves his wife of 43 years, Susan L. (Griffith) Provo, a son David W. Provo, Jr. and his wife Barbara of Spencer, two daughters, Kim Marie Simonovitch and her husband Peter of Spencer and Tracy L. Caforio and her husband Vernon of Leicester, three brothers, Dr. Theodore Provo, Jr. of Spencer, Bruce Provo of Leicester and Wayne Provo of Plymouth, six grandchildren Jessica Provo, Megan Provo, Christy Provo, David Provo, III, Alexandria Simonovitch and Ethan Simonovitch all of Spencer, a nephew John C. Woodcock, Jr. of Jewett City, Ct., nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a sister Mary Jane Brockway. Born in Worcester, he was the son of Theodore and Mernie (Patterson) Provo, Sr. Mr. Provo was a licensed electrician for over 30 years with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 96 in Worcester before retiring in 1991. He graduated from Leicester High School and Worcester Industrial Institute. He was a lifetime member of the Spencer Fish & Game Club. In 1991, Dave underwent a heart transplant which gave him 10 additional years with his family. Funeral services and calling hours are private. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the First Congregational Church, P.O. Box 187, Spencer, 01562.
