J.U. Gérald Lavoie BIRCH RIDGE, NB - Joseph Ulysse Gérald Lavoie, 71, of Birch Ridge, passed away Friday, June 25, 2004 at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital following a brief illness. Born May 9, 1933 in Moncton, he was the son of the late Albert J., and Lea (Boucher) Lavoie. He was a retired automotive sales representative. He was also a Veteran of the Korean War, a member of the Korean Veterans Association, and a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council #1310. He was also past Grand Knight and Faithful Navigator of the Msgr. Roy A. MacDonald Assembly. He is survived by his wife, Sylvie (Richard) Lavoie; a daughter, Janice Lavoie (Alex) of Mississauga; five sons, Robert of Kingston, ON, Ulysse, Daniel (Kim), Marc (Leilani), and Gerald, all of Moncton; a sister, Rita Bartkow (Joe) of Greenwood, NS; five brothers, Leo (Edna) of Hamilton, ON, Albert Jr. of BC, Ronald of Moncton, Roger (Pat) of New Jersey, Terrance (Olida) of Cocagne; 15 grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. A brother, Emery predeceased him. The funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 29, 2004 at NotreDame-de-Gr~ce Roman Catholic Church (Parkton). A reception in the church hall will follow. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe. At the request of the family, memorial donations to the NB Lung Association would be requested.
