WOODS, Alice Jeanne d'Arc (Joan) Formerly of Marysville and Swan Haven Nursing Home in Harvey Station, passed away on Friday, December 3, 2004. Alice was born in Ottawa on September 9, 1921, the daughter of Nelson Joseph Lacasse and Rose Scholastique Lafleur. Her husband, Frederick Joseph, predeceased her in October, 1982. She is survived by two daughters, Joan Wilson (Raymond) and Shirley McKenzie, both of Fredericton, NB; three sons, Maurice, Scarborough, ON, Richard (Lynne), Hamilton, ON and James (Pierette), Orleans, ON. Eleven grandchildren; Patrick Wilson (Lynn), Mark Wilson (Cheryl), Gregg Wilson (Brenda), Heather Woods (Paul), Lisa Holmes (Aaron), Ryan Woods, Russell Woods (Christine), Tara Woods, Rachel Lalonde (Frank), Kenneth Woods (Renee), and Robert McKenzie (Yuki). Fifteen great-grandchildren; Jacob and Noah Wilson, Brent Strasbourg, Jimmy, Bryan and Angelina Holmes, Kaila Woods, Kasey, Andrea and Willow Woods, Daniel Lalonde, Jakob, Meredith and Grayson Woods, Lisa McKenzie and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by an infant son, Frederick Leanard, in 1948; five brothers, Herve (Eva), Leo (Aline), Rene (Lucille), Fernand (Mary), and Gerald; six sisters, Blanche Gougeon (Lionel), Irene Lacasse, Lucille Dinelle (Phillipe), Jeannette Vaillancourt (Libert) and two infant sisters, all of Ottawa and a daughter-in-law, Sharon Woods, of Scarborough. There will be no visitation by request and a cremation will take place. A memorial service will be held from York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Tuesday December 7th at 2 p.m. with Rev. Maurice Swift officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to the Canadian Diabetes Association, Alzheimer's Society of New Brunswick, the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a charity of the donor's choice. Interment will be in Saint Anthony's Catholic Cemetery, Fredericton. Condolences can be offered via www.york_fh.com. Published in the Ottawa Citizen on 12/6/2004.
