BERNARD DOUGLAS GEDDES 12/05/1940 - 04/12/2004 For two years, he fought to beat the cancer, courageous, determined and upbeat all the way. Today, he left us to receive his reward and to rejoin his beloved mother Ruby, father John Chisholm, aunt Aribine “Bine” Carroll and many others; cousins Creighton and Raymond Eide and Ira Geddes. Left to mourn but never forget him are his devoted wife Lynda and daughters Christina and Meghan (Guy Fortier), his loyal cat Sam, grandchildren Chrislynn, Alysia and Katelyn. Also feeling this great loss are Don Lafleur, Sean Longyear, Michal Grawbarger and J.M. Ducharme, his “adopted” boys, sister-in-law Mary McWhinnie (Bill) of Huntsville and their children Kathy & Rob, aunt Daisy Eide of Trout Creek along with many cousins both in Ontario and Nova Scotia. Bernie loved life and laughter. His family came first then skidooing, camping at Star Lake, fishing, building and improving his home. He was employed at the Hollinger Mine , Mac Intyre Mine and the Pamour Mine. He took great pride in his work as a millwright and spoke fondly of his co-workers. The family would like to thank all those who have supported Bernie throughout his illness especially Dr. Cohen, Dr. Voogjarv, Judy and Mitch of Oncology as well as the nursing staff and doctors of Peds/Medical at the Timmins & District Hospital. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 7, 2004 from Nativity of our Lord Parish. In lieu of flowers, remembrance donations to the Oncology Unit of The Timmins & District Hospital would be appreciated. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 6, 2004 from 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m. at the MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, 150 Balsam St. S., Timmins, Ontario. (705) 264-4444 - 12/7/2004 - ID5331942
