SKINNER, HELEN - Helen Skinner (74) passed away at her home in Allen Heights, St. Margaret's Bay, December 7, 2004. Helen was born in Whitney Pier, Sydney, Nova Scotia, September 19, 1930. She was the daughter of the late James and Annie Pride (Roberts). She will be sadly missed by the family she loved and loved to be with. She was a very dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. A very athletic person all her life, she was a former member of the Halifax Curling Club, the Ashburn Golf Club and the Senior Skaters of Bedford and Spryfield. She was also an avid bridge player. She is survived by her husband William; daughters, Carol Grandy, Elizabeth Hamilton, Cindy (Kenny) Reardon and son William Jr. (Cathy). She is also survived by her sister Evelyn Macaulay of Sydney and her seven precious grandchildren Amanda, Mathew, Jamie, Katie, Kenneth, Emma and Jenifer. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Hazel Hodder, Olive Antonioli, Myrtle Courage, Carrie MacVicar. There will be no visitation; cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 11, 2004 at 11:00 am at St. George's Anglican Church, Bay Road, Head of St. Margaret's Bay; the Reverend Mark Marshall officiating. Interment will be at the Church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Helen's memory to: Alzheimer's Society of Nova Scotia, 5954 Spring Garden Road, Halifax, Nova Scotia, B3H 1Y7; or Canadian Cancer Society, 5826 South Street, Halifax, Nova Scotia, B3H 1S6.
