LaMONTAGNA , Pasquale January 28, 1937 - June 21, 2009 Pasquale LaMontagna, beloved husband of Guiseppina LaMontagna of Calgary, passed away after a lengthy illness at home surrounded by his family on Sunday, June 21, 2009 at the age of 72 years. Pasquale was born January 28, 1937 in Marigliano, Naples, Italy. He immigrated to Calgary in 1959 and in 1961 was joined by the love of his life, Guiseppina. Pasquale and Guiseppina were married in Calgary on December 9, 1961. Pasquale began his working career as head machine operator for Consolidated Concrete, leaving in 1984 after twenty-five years of service to pursue new interests. He embarked upon his new career as custodian with Catholic School Board, and in 2002, at the age of sixty-five, he retired. Pasquale had a great passion for fishing; at any opportunity he could be found out in his boat, enjoying the quiet and relaxation of the outdoors and being on the water. He also loved to tend to his garden, growing the best tomatoes and green peppers, which he gladly shared with his family and friends. Family was always first in Pasquale's life; to be in the company of his loving wife, children and grandchildren were the most precious of times. He was very proud of his family and of the life he had made in Canada. Pasquale is survived by his loving wife Guiseppina; children, Filomena and Milton Pratt; Roger and Leann (nee Mraz) LaMontagna and Raffelina and Norman Fillion; grandchildren, Ryan and Riley Pratt, Madison and Morgan LaMontagna, Dawson, Connor and Francesca Fillion; brothers, Tony and Inga of Vernon, BC, Sam and Sevaria of Italy, Guy and Sabina of Calgary; sisters, Lucia and Marcello Davino of Italy, Sister Lidia LaMontagna of Italy, Maria and Reg Serpico of Calgary, Sister Angelina LaMontagna of Italy and Sister Teodora LaMontagna of Italy; brothers and sisters-in-law, Luigi and Filomena Ardolino, Frank and Maria Ardolino as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Reziero and Filomena LaMontagna. Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at Our Lady of Grace Italian and English Catholic Church (1714 - 14 Avenue N.E.) today, June 27, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen's Park Mausoleum.
