Betty Jane MONTEITH

Betty Jane (Monteith) Smart passed away at the Upper River Valley Hospital on May 16, 2009. She was born August 22, 1935 in Lower Brighton, the daughter of the late Robert Monteith and Elva (Parker) Monteith. She is survived by her husband Raymond Smart; three daughters, Ellen (Bob) Kee, Rosalie (John) Connell, and Jean (Ronnie) Simonds; three sons, Jim (Melinda) Smart, John (Pam) Smart, and Blair (Lori) Smart; 14 grandchildren, one great grandchild; two sisters, Muriel DeLong of PEI and Elaine Murray of Mapledale; and one brother, Lewis Monteith of Southampton. She was predeceased by one brother, Earl Monteith, in 2008. Funeral service was held from the Carleton Funeral Home on May 19th with Rev. Paul Wellwood officiating. Pallbearers were grandsons Sean Kee, Billy Connell, Bradley Smart, Andrew Smart, Tyler Smart and Adam Simonds. Burial took place at the Kirk Cemetery, Northampton.
