Weldon Byron MATCHETT

The death of Weldon Byron Matchett, loving companion of Camilla (Kay) Hare of Curventon, NB, occurred on Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at his late residence at the age of 70. Born in Curventon, NB he was the son of the late Howard and Mary (Ashton) Matchett. Weldon worked for Longyear Diamond Drilling Company, was a guide for Big Hole Fishing Camp and also drove School Bus with District 16. Besides Kay, Weldon is survived by: three step daughters: Vaunda Foran (Reggie) of Sevogle, NB; Valorie Hyland (Herbie) of Sunny Corner, NB; Sheryl of Curventon, NB; two step sons: Randy (Vicky) of Douglastown, NB; Richard (Christina) of Miramichi, NB; three sisters: Ruby English (Jimmy) of Miramichi, NB; Betty Curtis (Willis) of Trout Brook, NB; Elsie Nowlan (Albert) of Sunny Corner, NB; two brothers: John (Sylvia) of Trout Brook, NB; Harold (Mina) of Exmoor, NB; grandchildren: Shannon, Jonathan, Tyler, Gary, Diedra, Ryan, Valeen, Heidi; great grandchildren: Danielle, Annika, Addison and Axel and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Weldon is predeceased by: one sister: Helen; four brothers: Perley, Sterling, Lawrence and Raymond. The family received visitors at Meadows Funeral Home, on Thursday, July 9, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral Service was held from the Wesley United Church, Trout Brook on Friday at 2 PM with Rev. Blair Whyte officiating. Organist and Soloist was Jacqueline Allain: Solos; "Good Morning, Good Night", "How Great Thou Art" and "Amazing Grace". Reflections were done Vaunda Foran; Scripture Readings were read by Vaunda Foran and Valorie Hyland. Active Pallbearers were: Ricky English, Donald Curtis, Reggie Foran, Herb Hyland, Jonathan Foran and Tyler Foran. Honorary Pallbearers were: Arnold Hare, Sheldon Curtis, Harley Matchett, Derrick Nowlan, Shannon Foran, Gary Ross, Ben Kenna and Albert Nowlan Burial followed in the church cemetery. In Weldon's memory, donations may be made to the Wesley United Church Cemetery Fund. Funeral arrangements were under the care of Meadows Funeral Home, 150 Northwest Road, Sunny Corner, NB.
