Nancy Chalat (née Kuzminski) February 05, 1920 - December 19, 2004 Funeral arrangements by Jenkens Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre Mrs. Nancy Chalat, at the age of 84, went to be with her Lord on December 19, 2004. Born on February 5, 1920 in the Ukraine, she came to Canada with her family in 1929. Nancy worked at Canadian Car for a number of years and then for the City of Thunder Bay Parks and Conservatory. She was a nature lover and enjoyed berry and mushroom picking as well as tending her garden. Nancy loved to be with her family, especially her two grandchildren Shelley (Jim) Frost and Michael (Stacy) Chalat as well as two greatgrandchildren Shannan and Mitchell Frost. She was also a long-time member of Lakehead Baptist Church. She was predeceased by her husband Mike, Sister Laverne and brothers Leonard and Bill. She is survived by her son Allan and wife Shirley, brother George (Dolly) Kuzminski, sisters Vicki (Walter) Pawluk, Emily Gelevan (Bill) and Verna Staniccki. Numerous nephews and nieces also survive. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, December 21, 2004 from 7 – 8 p.m. at Jenkens Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre, 226 S. Syndicate Avenue. Funeral services for Mrs. Nancy Chalat will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Jenkens Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery. If friends so desire, memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
