BONTES, Jan After a valiant struggle, our loved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away on Sunday, December 19, 2004, at the age of 92. He lived a full, rich life and will be sadly missed by his wife Louise, his children Dieuwie (Piet) Veurtjes, Cobie (Ken) Lowe, Jan (John) and Diane Bontes, Alex and Roslyn Bontes. His grandchildren John and Leanne Veurtjes, Peter and Kara Veurtjes, Rob and Jay Veurtjes, Mike Lowe and friend Nicole, Mark Lowe and friend Tina, Darrell and Nicky Bontes, Brad Bontes and Tania Phinney, Laurie and Brett Walker, Natalie, Kirk and Todd Bontes and three great-granddaughters Mackenzie, Alicia and Sydney. He was predeceased by his first wife Jacobje Oost in 1974, as well as his sister Annie Ybes and brothers Piet, Gerrit and Willem Bontes in the Netherlands. Friends may call at the ALAN R. BARKER FUNERAL HOME 19 McArthur Avenue, Carleton Place on Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service to be held in the chapel at 11 a.m. with Reverend Blair Corcoran officiating.
