QUINNEY, Ronald Sgt. Ronald C. Quinney, CD1 (Retired) January 23, 1937 - August 11, 2009 We announce with great sorrow that on August 11, 2009 after a brave struggle with cancer, Ron passed away at his home in Elliot Lake, Ontario surrounded by his family. He is survived by his beloved wife Pearl of nearly 50 years and his children Linda (Bob), Nancy (Ed), Cathy (Gord) and Steve, 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He will be missed by his brother Bruce (Margaret-Ann), sisters Margaret (Bryan), Jayne (Harold), Susanne (Allan), Mary Lou (Sue), his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Ron was predeceased by his parents Sydney and Isabel. Ron proudly served his country in the RCAF for 25 years. He loved his family, his country, his gardens, his Leafs and his golf. He scored his prized hole-in-one on August 4, 2007 in Elliot Lake. Cremation has taken place. The memorial service will be held on Saturday August 15, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. from St. James / St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, Gravel Hill Road, Monkland, Ontario. Burial to follow in Gravel Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Elliot Lake Palliative Care Program or the St. Joseph's General Hospital (both located at 70 Spine Rd., Elliot Lake, ON., P5A 1X2) would be appreciated by the family.
