Alphonse Joseph Thibodeau l'Acadie Nouvelle - 23 décembre 2004 - À l’Hôpital Régional de Saint-Jean, le mardi 21 décembre 2004, à l’âge de 76 ans, est décédé après une lutte contre le cancer Alphonse Joseph Thibodeau. Né à Richibouctou-Village, il était fils de feu Nicholas et Alma (Maillet) Thibodeau. Il laisse dans le deuil ses enfants: Paul (Sharon), Terry, Roseann (Allan Lavigne) et Mary Brine, tous de l’Ontario; ses soeurs: Margarette Thibodeau de Richibouctou-Village et Olive (Leonce Nowlan) de Sainte-Anne; son frère, Emile (Theresa) de Richibouctou-Village, ainsi que plusieurs petits-enfants, arrière-petits-enfants, neveux et nièces. Un frère, Germain, l’a précédé dans la tombe. M. Thibodeau a vécu et reçu son éducation à Richibouctou-Village avant de déménager à Saint-Jean où il a travaillé pour une compagnie de fertilisation et à Bolson Chair Tavern. En 1968, il a déménagé à Oshawa, Ontario. Il a travaillé à Lasco Steel et est devenu membre de United Steel Workers of America Union pendant 23 ans. Après sa retraite, il est retourné vivre au Nouveau-Brunswick, à Saint-Pierre pendant plusieurs années et finalement à Rothesay. Il aimait beaucoup la pêche, le camping et voyager avec sa famille. La dépouille mortelle est présentement exposée à la salle mortuaire de l’église de Richibouctou-Village. Les funérailles auront lieu en l’église Saint-Antoine- de-Padoue de Richibouctou-Village, le vendredi 24 décembre, à 11h. Heures de visites: le jeudi 23 décembre, de 14h à 16h et de 19h à 21h et le vendredi 24 décembre, de 9h jusqu’à l’heure des funérailles. À la demande de la famille, un don à l’Hôpital Général de Saint-Jean serait apprécié. La direction des funérailles a été confiée aux soins professionnels de la Maison funéraire Thompson de Richibouctou (523-4252, www.thompsonsfuneralhome.com). Alphonse Joseph Thibodeau RICHIBUCTO VILLAGE, NB Alphonse Joseph Thibodeau, passed away at Saint John Regional Hospital on December 21, 2004 at the age of 76, following a battle with cancer. Born in Richibucto Village, NB, he was the son of the late Nicholas and Alma (Maillet) Thibodeau. Joseph lived and was educated in Richibucto Village before moving to Saint John, NB. There he worked for a fertilizing company and Bolson Chair Tavern. In 1968, he moved to Oshawa, Ontario. He worked at Lasco Steel and became a member of the United Steel Workers of America Union for 23 years. After his retirement, he moved back to New Brunswick living in St.Pierre for several years before finally residing in Rothesay. Joseph was an avid fisherman and enjoyed camping and travelling with his family. He is survived by his children; Paul and his wife, Sharon Thibodeau, Terry Thibodeau, Roseann and her husband, Allan Lavigne and Mary Brine, all of Ontario; his sisters, Margarette Thibodeau of Richibucto Village and Olive and her husband, Leonce Nowlan of Ste. Anne, and his brother, Emile and his wife, Theresa Thibodeau of Richibucto Village. He is predeceased by his brother, Germain Thibodeau. He will be sadly missed by his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Resting at St. Antoine de Padou Roman Catholic Church slumber room, Richibucto Village with visitation Thursday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9, Friday 9 am until time of funeral. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Antoine de Padou Roman Catholic Chuch on Friday, December 24, 2004 at 11:00 AM. Donations to Saint John General Hospital would be appreciated.
