Daniel Wilbur BEAVERDAM, NB - The death of Daniel Wesley Wilbur, of Beaverdam, NB, occurred on Wednesday, December 22, 2004. Born in Calgary, Alberta, Danny was the husband of Susan (Briggs) Wilbur and the son of David Allison (Al) and the late Mary Margaret (Newhook) Wilbur. Dan is survived by his loving wife, Susan (Briggs) Wilbur; his father, David Allison (Al); one son, Daniel (D.J.) and one daughter, Leah, both of Beaverdam, NB; five brothers, David (Renata) of Kamloops, BC, Bruce (April) of Tracy, NB, Mike (Chris) of Moncton, NB, Rob (Liz) of Brooklyn, NS, and Lee (Heather) of Mount Uniacke, NS; one sister, Susan of Mount Uniacke, NS and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother, Mary Margaret(Newhook) Wilbur. Dan was a graduate of Fredericton High School. He was in the Canadian Armed Forces and served with the Lord Strathcona Horse Regiment for four years, then served as a RM Tech until his release. Danny operated his own refrigeration business for several years prior to entering the trucking industry where he worked with several carriers as an owner, operator. Most recently he worked with Gerard Oval Strapping as a service and sales representative throughout the Maritimes. Danny's hobbies included showing and working with horses, snowmobiling, cooking for a crowd, hunting, and fishing. Dan was the life of any party and the center of attention at family gatherings. He was also considered the fifth Hayward brother. Dan was a loving and devoted husband and father and a loyal friend, always quick to help those in need. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. The family will receive visitors at River Valley Funeral Services (50 Avonlea Ct., off of Bishop Dr. 455-4267) on Sunday, December 26, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Monday, December 27, 2004 at the Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Nasonworth at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Bruce McKenna officiating. Interment will take place at St. John the Evangelist Cemetery in Beaverdam following the service. A reception will be held in the church following the interment.
