OBITUARY ARTHUR DANIEL RUBY, F.C.A. Passed away peacefully in his home on the morning of December 25 after an extended illness. Born September 23, 1915 in Montreal to parents Annie (Godine) and David Ruby. Predeceased by his sisters Lily Freedman, Dorothy Klein and Ethel Ruby. Wonderful and loving husband of Lilly Ruby who he always called his rock of support and his love. Together they walked hand in hand as an inspiration of their love to many. Devoted, caring, and loving father of Lorne and Marie Ruby, Gary Ruby, sons from a previous marriage to Fay Ruby; Peter and Peggy Jensen, Niels Jensen and Louise Abbott, and Paul Jensen and Diane Lowden. Cherished grandfather of Maia Ruby, and Lisa, Christina, Mark, Torbin, and Samuel Jensen. Great-grandfather to Alex Clemmons. Loving uncle to Stuart Freedman, Elise Lewin, Joanne Sternthal, and Elliott and George Edelstein. A Memorial Service will be held at the Mount Royal Funeral Complex, 1297 Chemin de la Foret, Outremont (514)279-6540 on Wednesday, December 29, 2004 at 2 p.m. After graduating from McGill University, Arthur served as a navigator for the Royal Canadian Air Force during WWII and saw service in Europe and over the Sinai. Upon returning to Montreal he founded his own accounting practice and then became a founding partner of Ruby, Stein, and Wagner. He was affiliated with the Ordre des Comptables agree du Quebec and served on several executive committees from 1964 to 1985. He was among the first accountants in Quebec to be made a Fellow of the Order. Arthur was also involved in land development on the South Shore and West Island of Montreal, in Ottawa, and was instrumental in the development and character of Rosemere since the 1950's. A dear friend to many, Arthur was truly a remarkable and unique person whose kindness and generosity knew no limits. A very special loving man who was always there for family, friends and strangers. A mentor to many, his wonderful character and outlook will continue to inspire all those who knew him. He will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity.
