Brian D Seager July 13, 1917 - December 25, 2004 Funeral arrangements by Atlantic Funeral Home (Dartmouth) SEAGER, Brian D. - 87, Dartmouth, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 25, 2004, in Oakwood Terrace. Born in Faversham, Kent, England, he was a son of the late John William and Caroline (Higgins) Seager. He served with both the Royal Marines in England and the Royal Canadian Navy, retiring with the rank of Lt. Commander. He then worked at the Halifax Armoury for many years. A sports enthusiast, he enjoyed golf, track and loved riding and caring for his horses. A true gentleman, he was courteous and gracious and befriended many. He is survived by son-in-law, Hans Goedbloed; grandchildren, Miriam, Adriaan (Gina), Dieter; great-grandchildren, Desmond, Kayla, Jordan, all of the Netherlands; sister, Iris (Frank) Coghlan, Abbotsford, B.C. He was predeceased by his wife, Phyllis; daughter, Jeanette; brothers, Albert, Dennis John and Harry; sisters, Hazel, Editha, Viola and Dorothy. Arrangements are entrusted to Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth, where funeral service will be held Friday, December 31, at 9:30 a.m. in the chapel, Rev. David Turner officiating. Reception will follow in the family reception centre. Interment in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Dalhousie University Medical Research Foundation. The family wishes to thank the caregivers and residents of Oakwood Terrace.
