HAWKINS, Florence Marie Hawkins (nee Brennan) 1916-2004. Passed away at Bluewater Health - Norman St. Site, Sarnia on Sunday, December 26, 2004. Beloved wife of the late Maurice Hawkins (1983). Loved mother of John & Joan Hawkins, Tecumseh, Gerald & Meg Hawkins, London, Elaine & Don McTaggart, Goderich, Rosemary & Kevin MacDonald, Vancouver and Maureen & Tom Symeonakis, Sarnia. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Stephen (Erin) Hawkins, Amy (Jason) LaTour, James, Matthew and Joseph Hawkins, Jennifer, Nathan and Daniel MacDonald and Allen, Carly and Mark Symeonakis and her great-grandchildren Steven LaTour and Michelle Hawkins. She is survived by her sister Ruth Henderson, her brother Charles Brennan and many nieces and nephews. Pre-deceased by son Tim, great-grandson Nicholas, sister Gertrude Brennan, her brothers Harold, Robert and Frank Brennan, brother-in-law Don Henderson and sister-in-law Fran (Brennan) Janisse. Florence was a graduate of St. Joseph's School of Nursing in Chatham. She was a dedicated nurse for many years in the Nursery and Neo-Natal Intensive Care Unit at Sarnia St. Joseph's Hospital. Florence was an avid bridge player and thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of duplicate bridge. Visitation at the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia 7-9 p.m. Wednesday where prayers will be offered at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Wes Gutowski 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Mercy Roman Catholic Church, Sarnia. Interment Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy friends who wish may send memorial donations to the Neo-Natal Intensive Care Unit, 89 Norman St., Sarnia, N7T 6S3 or The St. Vincent de Paul Society, 106 East St. S., Sarnia, N7T 3R1. Messages of condolence & memories may be left at www.mckenzieblundy.com A tree will be planted in memory of Florence Hawkins in the McKenzie & Blundy Memorial Forest.
