FLOOD, John - It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of John Dennis Flood on September 8, 2009 in Kenora, Ontario, at the age of fifty-five. John was the devoted father of Jennifer. She was the apple of his eye, his proudest accomplishment and the love of his life. John's passing will be mourned deeply by his mother, Claire Flood, his siblings, Frank (Kathy), Paula, Robert (Louise), Anne-Marie (Richard), Sheila (Hrair), Stephen (Maria), Michael (Jennifer) and David (Andrea), and twenty-four nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Dr. Francis Flood. John was a devoted academic. He received his Bachelor of Arts from Concordia University in political science. He obtained a Masters of Arts in criminology from the University of Indiana, a Bachelor of Law Degree from McGill University and a Masters of Law from Osgood Hall. Professionally, John's passions were the law and teaching. John taught criminology at Canadore College in North Bay for fifteen years and later at Algoma University in Sault Ste. Marie. The funeral mass was celebrated at the Annunciation of Our Lady Church, Montreal. John is now resting peacefully at the Notre-Dame-des-Neiges Cemetery in Montreal.
