PHILLIPS, Harold Gerard - At the Brant Centre, Burlington on Sunday September 13, 2009, Harold Gerard Phillips in his 83rd year passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of Jean Frances Phillips for 58 years. Dearly loved father of Stephen (Cori), Paul (Shelley), Susan Ranchuk, Catherine Lewis (Gary), and Janet. Cherished grandfather of Jessica, Megan, Michael, Christopher, Andrea, Andrew (Mandy), Heather (Chris) and great-grandfather of Morgan. Dear brother of William (Helen); predeceased by his brothers John (Mary), Ralph (Martha), his infant sister Mary Josephine and his sister-in-law Elinor (Howard) Mulrain. He will be lovingly missed by all his nieces, nephews and friends. Born and raised in Brantford, Harold was a retiree of the Firestone Tire and Rubber Co. (Hamilton) with 35 years service, a past member of the Burlington Chamber of Commerce, Rotary (Burlington) and Junior Achievement (Hamilton). Harold will always be remembered as a devoted husband and loving father. His wonderful sense of humour brought joy and smiles to all who were dear to him. Visitation at the DODSWORTH & BROWN FUNERAL HOME, Burlington Chapel, 2241 New Street (at Drury Lane), Burlington (905-637-5233) on Wednesday September 16th from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 287 Plains Road East, Burlington on Thursday September 17th at 11:00 a.m. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
