SAMMUT, Charles “Cha-Cha” - of Fort Erie and formerly of Port Colborne died suddenly at the Greater Niagara General Hospital in Niagara Falls on Tuesday September 15, 2009 at the age of 61 years. Loving husband of Heather (nee Tweedy), loving father of Kerri (Ed) Tunnacliffe, papa of Haley, step-grandfather of Eric and Aaron Tunnacliffe, son of Rose Herbert, brother of Lawrence (Janice) Sammut, Joseph (Eileen) Sammut, Toni (Frank) Edwards, Sonia (Verne) Clark and Lylia Reid, son-in-law of Junior Tweedy, brother-in-law of Gail (Doug) Marr, Wayne (Cathy) Tweedy, Brenda (Primo) Macoritto, Crystal (Chuck) Campbell, Debby Tweedy, Brent (Barb) Tweedy, Tim Tweedy and Todd (Brigitte) Tweedy. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Gerard Sammut, his mother-in-law Beryl Tweedy, his brother-in-law Don Edwards and his sister-in-law Kathy Tweedy. Charles worked at INCO for over 20 years and trained racing horses in Fort Erie. By Charles request, cremation has taken place. The Sammut family will receive visitors at the PORT COLBORNE CHAPEL of the DAVIDSON FUNERAL HOMES 135 Clarence St. on Saturday September 19, 2009 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service in the chapel at 1:00 p.m. with Father Bill Derousie officiating. Rite of committal will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. If so desired, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario.
