RIOLINO, Angela - With saddened hearts the family of Angela Riolino announces her passing at her residence on Wednesday September 23, 2009 at the age of 82. Loving and devoted wife of Dionisio “Dino”. Cherished mother of Yole Pastirik (David), Basil Riolino (Sheila) and Lucy Riolino (Kevin). Dear sister of Augusta Giacomello, Ines Giacomello (Luciano), Vittorino Giacomello and Rita Giacomello. She will be sadly missed by her grand children; Andrea (Steve), Robert, Alicia, Julianna, Marissa, Shawn and Jessica. Mrs. Riolino was predeceased by her parents and 3 brothers. Born in 1927 in Spilembergo, Italy; she came to Canada in 1952 to marry her husband Dionisio; following a 2 year courtship by mail. A woman of devout faith and quiet practical wisdom; she shared both with her family for the next 57 years. Her life was spent nurturing her husband, children and grandchildren through her gifted cooking, tailoring, painting and gardening. She was a keen observer who saw the beauty in the world around us and never stopped being amazed at God's creation. She leaves a legacy of faith and trust in God as well as faithful and devoted service to others. The family will receive relatives and friends at the WELLAND FUNERAL HOME 827 East Main Street Welland on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. The funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10am in St. Andrew the Apostle Roman Catholic Church. Interment to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery. Vigil prayers for Mrs. Riolino will be celebrated Friday afternoon at 3pm. If desired donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Welland Hospital Foundation will be greatly appreciated by the family.
