RORISON (Robbins), Dorothy Evelyn - It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our mom, mother-in-law and dear Gramma Dot, at her residence on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 in her 79th year. Beloved mother of Linda Rivet (Ed), Brad Robbins (Carm), Barry Robbins (Mimi) and Tammy Tanguay. Lovingly remembered by her nine grandchildren (Gramma's Brats) Jamey, Jesse, Stephanie, Jenny, Kristy, Tyler, Spencer, Dylan and Dallas. Survived by her only “sis” Mary Simpson (Welland) and brother Mel Patterson (Toronto). Born and raised in Mount Dennis, Toronto, she was predeceased by her first husband Lelland, brother Jack and parents Robert and Margret Patterson. Dottie was employed as a ward clerk at the WCGH for many years until her retirement in 1995. An avid fan at her children's and grandchildren's sporting activities, reading and dancing were among her interests. A faithful Blue Jay and Maple Leaf fan, she took great pride and pleasure in her grandchildren, home, garden and neighbours. Dottie was known for her “feisty” Irish personality, sense of humour, colourful stories and will be especially missed at Christmas time which she always made most memorable. Thanks for being such a great Mom and Gramma. Friends are invited to visit the family at the H.L. CUDNEY FUNERAL HOME, 241 West Main Street, Welland on Saturday from 2 -4 and 7 - 9 p.m. and Sunday from 10 - 11 a.m. Funeral service will be held in the Cudney chapel on Sunday, September 27th at 11:00 a.m. “In honour of Dot, treat a loved one to dinner in her memory.” Online condolences available at www.cudneyfuneralhome.com
