HOFFMAN, Doreen - After a courageous fight, Mom said, “It's time. Take me home, Lord.” And Jesus welcomed her. Doreen Hoffman (nee Taylor) died peacefully on Thursday, September 24, 2009 in her 88th year. Predeceased by her husband Raymond Hoffman and by partner William “Mickey” McWayne. Much loved mother of Wayne and his wife Wuppie, Diane VanEchten, and David and his wife Susan. Loving grandmother of the late Marliese Hoffman, Shaun and Ruston Hoffman; Terry Rush and Chris Laush; Melanie Novak and Michelle Hoffman. Great grandmother of Laiklyn and Logan Laush; Tierra, Tiwanna and Chris Rush; Liam and Callum Novak. Predeceased by brothers Ted, Harold and Robert Taylor. Doreen was a retired employee of Scott's Chicken Villa where she worked 25 years, and previously as Hostess at the White Horse. The family of Doreen expresses deep gratitude to the Staff and Nurses of the BGH Dialysis Unit and the C.C.A.C. for their exceptional care and sensitivity to her needs. Visitation will be at McCLEISTER FUNERAL HOME, 495 Park Road North on Tuesday, October 13, from 7 to 9 p.m. A Memorial Service to celebrate Doreen's life will be held at New Covenant Christian Fellowship Church, 11 Holiday Dr. on Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Rev. John Tweedie. Reception will follow in church hall. Cremation has taken place. If wished, memorial donations to New Covenant Church or the charity of your choice gratefully appreciated.
