Ambroise GÉNIER

GÉNIER, Ambroise - 1927-2009 - The family announces with great sorrow his passing at the Sudbury General Hospital St- Joseph's on Thursday September 24th 2009 at the age of 82. He will be sadly missed by his wife Yolande Génier (nee Lamarche) and his children: Lorraine (Lucien) Cloutier of Timmins, Monique Y.Génier of Victoriaville, René (Alice) Génier of Cochrane, Denis (Louise) Génier of Timmins, Jean (Cathy) Génier of Surrey B.C., Patrice (Tammy) Génier of Calgary and Stéphane (Lisa) Génier of Cochrane. He was a beloved grandfather of Sylvie (Wes), Eric (Karen), Reynald, Maxime, Ryan (Laura), Keith, Christopher, Valerie, Roger, Lisa, Matthew, Shaun and great grandfather of Amy, Ashley, Keenan, Brennan and Harmony also a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He leaves in mourning his siblings: Lorenzo (Olivette) Génier of Orléans, Édouardina (Albiny) Guilbeault of Rockland, Dorsina (Ernest) Lamarche of Cochrane, Victor (Claire) Génier of Génier, Léandre (Georgette) Génier of Cochrane, Raymond (Marceline Beauvais) Génier of Cochrane, Normande (Ronald) Dupuis of Cochrane and Béatrice (Bob) Lafleur of Cochrane. Pre-deceased by his parents Ernest Génier and Oliva Éthier. Ambroise was a member of Knight of Columbus 4th degree. He was a dedicated volunteer of numerous associations and groups for many years as well as a member of the Club Amical 50 Plus, La Vie Montante and member of Tim Horton Event Centre. He enjoyed bowling, golf and playing cards. Ambroise loved working for his family and spoiling his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Family will receive friends at MAISON FUNÉRAIRE GÉNIER GAUTHIER FUNERAL HOME (70-7th Avenue South) Cochrane on Sunday September 27th, 2009 from 2 pm to 4 pm and 7 pm to 9 pm and also on Monday September 28th, 2009 from 9 am till 10:00 am. A funeral service will be held on Monday September 28th at 10:30 am at Transfiguration Roman Catholic Church in Cochrane with the Reverend Father Jean-Guy Mailloux officiating. Interment will follow at Roman Catholic Cemetery. Donations made to the Lady Minto Hospital and Tim Horton Event Centre would be greatly appreciated by the family.
