John Ivan SKRTIC

SKRTIC, John (Ivan) - 1956 - 2009 John was born in Croatia on February 5, 1956. He came to Canada with his mother, at the age of two to join his father Nikola Skrtic in Schumacher. John's father died in 1972 when John was 16 years old. When John turned 18 he started working at Kidd Creek where he got his trade as a Millwright. John worked at Kidd Creek for 35 years before he became ill. John passed away on Monday September 28, 2009 at Timmins and District Hospital at the age of 53. He leaves behind his mother Magdalena Skrtic of Schumacher, his son Nicholas (Sam) Skrtic of Porcupine, his grandson Sid, his step- daughter Lindsay (Willie) of Alberta and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday October 2, 2009 at the Lessard- Stephens Funeral Home Chapel. Remembrance donations to the Timmins and District Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. at LESSARD- STEPHENS FUNERAL HOME.
