MECHANIC, Lorraine 77, passed away December 29, 2004. Predeceased by loving husband David (1999). Survived by her children (and their spouses) Nathan (Myra), Esther Stein, Sharon (Alan) Wohl, all of Toronto and William (Rachel) of Windsor. Also survived by her brother Bernard (Sara) Schiff of Michigan, grandchildren Rachel (Jason), Ruby, Meyer, Teddy and Deborah, sisters-in-law Anna Mae (Max) Gumprich and Rosalie (Leonard) Lopatin and one great-grandchild. Lorraine was an involved and dedicated participant in many worthwhile organizations. A long time member of Congregation Shaar Hashomayim, Lorraine was also a life member of Hadassah WIZO, ORT, Congregation Shaar Hashomayim Sisterhood and Pioneer Women. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 30 at 10:00 a.m. at the Rachel Kaplan Hebrew Memorial Chapel, 685 Aylmer Avenue. Rabbi Mitchell Kornspan will officiate. Interment will immediately follow at the Congregation Shaar Hashomayim Cemetery, 2618 Pillette Road. Shiva will be observed at the home of William Mechanic, 6065 Riverside Drive East, with evening services only on Thursday and Sunday. During Shiva, morning services will be held at the community minion at the Peretz House, 1653 Ouellette Avenue. Please call 256-3123 for times. In lieu of flowers and as an expression of your sympathy, contributions may be made to The Congregation Shaar Hashomayim - Mechanic Elevator Fund or to the charity of your choice.
