GIESBRECHT , Eldred John October 2, 1932 - September 14, 2009 It is with profound sadness that his family announces the passing of Eldred John Giesbrecht of Calgary, on September 14, 2009. The eldest of six siblings, Eldred was born at home in Great Deer, Saskatchewan, on October 2, 1932, to William and Susan Giesbrecht (nee Peters). He married Mary Driedger on November 26, 1954, and they remained together until his death. Left to mourn with Mary are their three sons: Gary (Alix), Ken (Stella) and Dale (Petra). Eldred was predeceased by his parents, his sisters Lorraine (Jack) Hicks, Velma (David) Tucker, and Shirley (Malcolm) Nicolson. He is survived by his sisters Lillian (Lauren) Williams and Donna (Jim) Moorehead. He will be sorely missed by his in-laws Nettie Olsen, Milton and Beth Boldt, David Driedger, Pete and Bernice Driedger, and Abe and Patsy Driedger. Eldred will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren Keegan, Christina, Olivia and Valerie, as well as his many nieces and nephews. Heartfelt thanks go out to the staff in the CCU at Rockyview Hospital, whose caring and dedication was greatly appreciated. A Celebration of Eldred's Life will be held in the Chapel of MOUNTAIN VIEW FUNERAL HOME on Saturday, September 26, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. Please join the family in remembrance and fellowship.
