Helen Elizabeth LINDSTEDT

WEST , Helen Elizabeth 1920 - 2009 Helen West (Lindstedt), formerly of Lomond, AB, passed away peacefully in her sleep at the Brentwood Care Centre in Calgary at 4:15 a.m. on September 16, 2009 at the age of 89 years. Helen will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by her three sons: Ken (Sharon) and David (Patty) of Calgary, and Les (Karen) of Denver; her grandchildren Brad and Marla; Elizabeth, Jared, Shannon, and Nathan; Tessa, Caterina and Adam; their families plus numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, her sister, Dagne (Stan Maertz) and by all her friends and relatives. Helen was predeceased by her husband, Albert on March 22, 2008; her parents Joe and Eleanor Lindstedt; and her four brothers, Art, Ralph, Irvine and Henry. Our families thank everyone who was a part of our mother's life and especially family and friends for their support during this difficult time. We extend a very special thank you to all doctors, nurses and health care providers over the years that helped care for both our Mother and Father at the Foothills Hospital, the Brentwood Care Centre in Calgary, Vulcan Hospital and the Peter Dawson Lodge in Vulcan. Helen's Funeral Service will be held Monday, September 21, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lomond Bethany Church. Lunch and refreshments will follow at the Lomond Sunshine Drop In Centre. Interment will be 2:30 p.m. at the Bassano Cemetery family plot. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Helen's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta, No. 200, 119 - 14 Street N.W., Calgary, AB T2N 1Z6 and/or the Lomond Bethany Church, Box 238, Lomond, AB T0L 1G0.
