OBITUARY FRANCIS (FRANK) McDEVITT Of Ottawa, formerly of Montreal and Belfast, Northern Ireland, passed away in the early morning on Saturday, September 19, 2009 at the age of eighty-four after a short battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving wife and companion of 61 years, Rosetta (Etta Flannigan) and his devoted children, Michael (KC) and Norman (Linda). Grandpa will be deeply missed by his four grandchildren, Thomas, Christopher, Oliver and Kaitlyn. He was predeceased by his parents Henry and Agnes McDevitt and his brothers, Robert (Bobby), Henry (Harry), William (Billy), David (Davey). Fondly remembered by his sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and many nieces and nephews in Northern Ireland and the United States. Frank was a member of the Merchant Marine in Ireland and worked as an engineer at Harland Wolfe. He and Etta moved to Montreal in 1954 where Frank worked for Dominion Engineering, SNC and Atomic Energy of Canada. Since 1962, Frank enjoyed the sunsets during his summers spent in North Hero, Vermont. A private family gathering will be held in Ottawa. There will be no visitation. His friends will be invited to celebrations of Frank's life next year at his two favourite places; his beloved Northern Ireland and North Hero, Vermont. Special thanks to the caring and compassionate staff at the Ottawa Civic Hospital Emergency Unit and the 6th Floor NW Unit of the Ottawa General Hospital who showed such kindness to Frank during his brief stay there.
