RIDDELL, James Arthur Peacefully, in Ottawa surrounded by family on Sunday, September 20, 2009, a few hours short of his 83rd birthday. A long-time resident of Ottawa, he was born in Kenogami, QC, raised in Arvida, QC and lived in Cabri, SK. Executive Director of Scouts Canada with more than 35 years of service. Awarded the Silver Maple Leaf (for service to Scouting in excess of 25 years as a member of the executive staff) from the Governor General. Predeceased by his wife Charlotte Faessler and survived by his three children Ken (Diane), Mary Ann and John (Marilyn) and by a great blessing of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents Arthur Ezra Riddell, Louise Caron and by siblings Edith, Cecile, Ken and Margaret. Many thanks to Dr. Lloyd Rossman of Ottawa, and the wonderful staff at Laurier Manor for the excellent care. Friends are invited to visit the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair and McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Avenue (at Richmond Road) Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service Thursday in the Chapel at 1 p.m. In Memoriam donations to the Scouts Canada Foundation or to the Alzheimer Society appreciated.
