NEWTON, William Ray October 7, 1929-September 20, 2009 It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of William Ray Newton of Vankleek Hill at the age of 79, after his courageous 10 year battle with cancer. Ray accepted the many operations and frequent trips to Ottawa with great dignity and strength. Son of the late William Alvin and Alberta Catherine Newton (nee McIlwain). Beloved husband for 54 years to Pauline (nee Franklin), Loving father of Debbie (John Rothwell) - Orleans, Patty (John Cundell) - Ottawa, Alan (Denise) - Vankleek Hill , Jeffrey (Evelyn) - Dalkeith and Tracey - Vankleek Hill. Cherished grandfather of Ryan, Tayler, Becky and Jenna, Jonathan and Christopher. Sadly missed by his 7 step-grandchildren and 2 step-great-grandchildren. Dearest brother of Jean (wife of Ken MacCuaig)-Maxville. Predeceased by his sisters and brother: Eileen (wife of the late Elmer McNaughton), Enid (wife of the late Clifford MacNaughton) and Keith (husband of the late Tootsie MacDuff). Dear brother-in-law of Agnes Davies -Toronto and Charles Franklin -Alexandria. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.
