GIFFEN , Irene Margaret (nee Giroux) November 18, 1914 - September 23, 2009 It is with great sadness we announce that Irene passed away, although peacefully, at the Beverly Care Centre. She was predeceased by her husband Doctor John W. Giffen in February, 1988. Irene was born in Cheadle, Alberta and at the age of two years, moved to Strathmore. She is survived by her children: Gary Giffen of Texas, Dawn Giffen of Calgary, and John Giffen (Louise) of Calgary; grandchildren: Sherry Norman (Kelly), Dwayne Norman, John M. Giffen (Teresa), and Juliamai Giffen; three great-grandchildren. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at Lord Of All Lutheran Church (112 Lakeside Boulevard, Strathmore) at 11:00 a.m., Father Dominic Hung Nguyen of Sacred Heart Catholic Parish, Celebrant.
