REA , Carolina "Lina" (nee Colombo) May 22, 1927 - September 22, 2009 Lina was born to Maria Libera and Arcangelo Colombo in Bonefro, Campobasso, Italy. Lina married Michelino Rea on January 16, 1947 and immigrated to Calgary in June of 1956. Lina was devoted to her family, and loved to work in her garden. Lina had a natural ability to grow flowers, she had a passion for roses having an American Beauty bush which she tended to for over thirty years. Lina was a very generous person, she enjoyed cooking, with a special talent making breads, pasta dishes and baking for her grandchildren. Lina will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all those whose lives she touched. Lina leaves to mourn her loving son and daughter-in-law, Ralph and Marian Rea; their children Patrick and Nicole; her daughter Nyckie Rea; sister, Adelina Massarelli of Montreal; brother and sister-in-law, Luigi and Domenica Colombo and their family, Marylee (Boni), Tony (Angela) and Victor Colombo; sister-in-law, Antionetta Colombo and her family, Angelo, Maria (Murray) and Pina (Leonard) all of Calgary; sister-in-law, Lucia Colombo and her family, Arcangelo and Maria (Pietro) all of Montreal, as well as several extended family in Canada and Italy. She was predeceased by her husband Michelino on July 21, 2005, brothers John on February 8, 2009 and Michele on March 30, 1992. A Private family Funeral Mass was held in her honour at Our Lady of Grace Italian and English Catholic Church. Graveside Services took place at Queen's Park Mausoleum. The family wishes to thank Dr. Majeed and the staff at Southwood Hospice for the compassionate care Lina received.
