VAN LEUR, Jake Peacefully in hospital at Arnprior with loved ones by his side on Saturday evening, September 26th, 2009. Jake van Leur of Arnprior; formerly of Kinburn at the age of 79 years. Beloved husband for over 57 years of Dora (nee Harbers). Dearly loved father of Rita Beimers (John) of Shawville, Bill van Leur (Wendi) of Dunrobin, Dorethy van Leur (Bill Olynyk) of Arnprior and Rick van Leur (Connie) of Kanata. ""Special Dad"" to Cheryl and Mark. Jake was predeceased by his 3 brothers and 4 sisters. Dearest friend of Piet and Gerty Schuurmans of Ottawa. Proud grandfather of James (Ginger), Scott, Christopher (Melanie), Rob (Jenni), Kevin (Sheena), Adam (Allysha), Julia and great-grandfather of Eden, Lexa, Addi, Sammy, Austin, Dylan and Belle. Friends may join us for visitation at the Pilon Family Funeral Home, 50 John Street North, Arnprior on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and after 9:45 a.m. Wednesday. A Service of Thanksgiving for the life of Jake van Leur will be conducted in St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, 80 Daniel Street North, Arnprior on Wednesday morning, September 30th at 11 o'clock. Rev. Milton Fraser to officiate. Interment will take place at the Malloch Road Cemetery followed by a reception in deRenzy Hall, St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church.
