THOMSON, Mildred Betty Winnifred Nee McCord Passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 26, 2009, at the Ottawa General Hospital. Beloved wife of Alexander Peter Thomson, cherished mother of Betty Warnock, Sandra Brown, and Margaret Thomson (David Drynan). Dear grandmother of Laura Warnock, Edward Warnock, Christopher Brown, Peter Brown, Cheryl Baker, Tristan Drynan and Andrew Drynan. Great-grandmother of Edward Jonathan Warnock and Ethan Leah Warnock, and Abby Baker. Mildred was a civil servant for twenty-five years, and after retirement found time to practice watercolours, learn computer skills, and recount many stories of youth in Lebreton Flats. She was affiliated with Western United Church in earlier years and then later with Bethany United Church, Ramsayville. Mildred's husband Alex, ("Sandy") to whom she was married sixty-seven years, will miss her immensely. Her children will miss her gentle encouragement and support and thoughtful mentoring. Memorial service will be held at Beechwood Cemetery, 280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa, 613-741-9530, on Thursday, October 1st at 2 p.m., followed by the interment. Heartfelt thanks to the ICU staff at the Ottawa General Hospital for their excellent care of Mildred and support for us, her family.
