COWLS, Doris Mary (nee Viau) - Passed away on Monday, September 28, 2009 at the K-W health Centre of the Grand River Hospital, Kitchener, in her 64th year. Beloved wife of David M. Cowls, whom she married December 30, 1967. Adored mother of Christine and husband Jeff Moores of Kitchener. She will be missed by her granddaughters Jillian and Audrey. Cherished sister of Lillian & Roger Lavoie of Sturgeon Falls, Susanne Hemming of Kitchener, Joanne and Lyle Capstick of Cave Creek, Arizona, William and Janet Viau of Oshawa and Simone Dumont & Larry Breth of Sudbury. Also missed by many nieces, nephews and grand-nephews. Predeceased by her son Marc in 1972 and parents Ovila and Agnes Viau of Sturgeon Falls. Doris was a Registered Nurse for 43 years. She worked in surgery in Kitchener and North Bay, and in local family medical practices for 34 years. Doris taught family practice nursing at Conestoga College for ten years and recently found great satisfaction while working for the Immunization Service of the Waterloo Regional Public Health Service. Relatives and friends may call at the HENRY WALSER FUNERAL HOME 507 Frederick St., Kitchener (519-749-8467) on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral Service for Doris will be conducted in the Chapel on Saturday, October 3, 2009 at 3:00pm. Rev. Marilyn Rushton officiating. Interment in Parkview Cemetery.
