GARVIE, Walter Allan - Allan Garvie passed away at his home in Mississauga surrounded by his family on September 28, 2009. Allan, a retired Principal from the Peel District School Board, was in his 79th year. He was the beloved husband of Lois (nee Matches) and father to Marilyn Hayden (Dave), Bruce (Michelle), Nancy and Robert Garvie (Pam). He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Matthew Caldwell (Amber), Christopher and Carrie Hayden, David, Jennifer, Scott and Paige Garvie. Allan is survived by his brother Alex Garvie of Owen Sound and his sister Margaret Johnson (Mervin) of Kilsyth, and is remembered also by his nephews, niece and their families. Friends may call at the TURNER & PORTER - Peel Chapel, 2180 Hurontario St., Mississauga (one block north of QEW) on Thursday, October 1, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., as well as one hour prior to the service at Applewood United Church. The service to celebrate the life of Allan Garvie will be held at Applewood United Church, 2067 Stanfield Road, Mississauga, on Friday, October 2, 2009 at 2:00pm. A graveside service of committal and interment will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2009 at 2:00pm at the Greenwood Cemetery, Owen Sound.
