Mr. Daniel Chowen, Summerside Born at Charlottetown , Prince Edward Island , Canada The death occurred at the Summerset Manor, Summerside, on Saturday, October 3, 2009, of Daniel Chowen of Hemlock Court, Charlottetown, and formerly of Summerside, aged 84 years. Born in Charlottetown, he was the son of the late Henry C. and Clara Jane Chowen. Survived by his son Stacy Chowen, Granville; stepchildren Donald Kennedy, Freetown; Wayne Kennedy, Charlottetown; Linda (Norman) Kirkpatrick, Ronnie (Mim) Ford, Debbie (Gordon) Lavers, Fern (Edwin) Gorveatt, Shirley (Ricky) Sanderson, Julie (Blaine) Murphy, all of Charlottetown; sisters Marilyn Chowen, Charlottetown; Ella Clarke, Scarborough, ON; and by his special friend Jane Thomson. Predeceased by his first wife Mildred MacEwen; second wife Norma Jewell; sisters Lucille Smith, Alice Martin, Sadie Wood, and Eva Chowen and by a brother in infancy. Resting at the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside, until Tuesday, then to Trinity United Church, Summerside, where funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Interment in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Valley. Visiting hours Monday from 7-9 p.m. Memorial donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
