Evelyn Kirkman JOHNSTON

McCAUL, Dr. Evelyn Kirkman - passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 1, 2009 in her 94th year. She was the daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. Hugh Johnston of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. She was predeceased by her brother Stafford Johnston of Mitchell, Ontario. Evelyn graduated in medicine from the University of Toronto in 1940. She and her husband Donald settled in Stratford Ontario where she practiced medicine from 1943 until 1973. She is survived by her husband Don and their children Jim (Gayle) of Powell River, BC, Hugh (Louise) of Wellesley, Ontario, Tom (Marjorie) of Stratford, and Mary (Rob McConnell) of Calgary. Evelyn leaves a living legacy of 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family at the W.G. YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Thursday October 8, 2009 from 7-9 pm. A memorial service will be held at St John's United Church at 1 pm on Friday October 9. A reception will follow.
