FOSTER, Shirley Joan - passed away at the Welland County General Hospital on Friday, October 2, 2009 in her 75th year. After graduating from Welland High and Vocational School in 1952, Shirley was the secretary, treasurer and bookkeeper at Foster Plumbing and Heating in Welland. In 1975, Shirley moved to London, Ontario where she held the same positions at the London Faith Tabernacle Church where she devoted her life and work to the service of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. After three bouts with cancer, Shirley retired in 2006 and moved back to Welland to be with her family. Shirley was a person who always gave of herself to family and friends without thought of return or reward. With family at her bedside, God sent a host of angels to bring His good and faithful servant home, for in you Shirley, God is well pleased. Shirley is predeceased by her parents, Grant and Martha Foster, sister Ellen Foster, brothers Douglas and James Foster. Shirley is survived by her brothers Larry and his wife Jackie, Thomas and his wife Katherine, nieces and nephews; Linda and Bill Stockill, Robert and Natalie Foster, Vicky Thomson (Mike Oatman), Diane, Laura, Greg, and Ryan, Kim, Jane, Chris, and David, great-nieces and nephews; Kyle, Daniel, Ethan, Phillip, Alex, Sarah, Angeline, Aidan, and Liam; aunt Marion Wellman, cousins; Donna, Beverly, Linda and Gay, and family friend Francis Klein. Friends are invited to visit the family at the H.L. CUDNEY FUNERAL HOME, 241 West Main Street, Welland on Tuesday, October 6th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the Cudney chapel on Wednesday, October 7th at 1:00 p.m. followed by interment in Woodlawn Cemetery.
