MANGER, George - had an extremely peaceful passing on Saturday, October 3, 2009 at his home at The Woodlands of Sunset. His oldest granddaughter was by his side. George, also known to many as Gido and the occasional G-Dawg, will be terribly missed by his daughter and son-in- law, Mary Ann and Steve Pastirik and his three wonderful granddaughters, Jillian, Justine and Jenna. Olga, his wife, predeceased him on December 14, 2003. He was born to Mike and Rose Manger on May 6, 1919. Fondly referred to as the family with golden hands, each sibling had their own talent to share; George's was carpentry. His brother Emil and his sister Mary Luska survive him. Gone before him are his sisters, Alice Gaverluk, Helen Pupo and his brothers Steve and Alex (Sonny). A gathering of family and friends will be held at J.J. Patterson & Sons Funeral Residence 19 Young Street, Welland on Tuesday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Wednesday morning at 11 o'clock. Interment will follow in Pleasantview Memorial Gardens.
