The Rev. Arthur Meighen Rodgers - September 01, 1926 - August 20, 2004 - Entered into God’s heavenly arms on Friday, August 20, 2004, from Scarborough Centenary Hospital. He fought a brave battle with cancer. Beloved husband of Ruth. Loving father of Darlene and her husband George Douma, Laurie and her husband Gord McCombe, Daniel and his wife Brenda, and Larry and his wife Jackie. Cherished grandfather of Michelle, Robert, Amanda, Julia, Matthew, Travis, Braydon, Brendan, Kaitlynn, Hope, and the late baby Jack. Survived by his brother Robert and his wife Virginia (Oshawa), and brother-in-law Raymond Gunsolus, his wife Winn Belleville). Son of the late Arthur and Nancy Rodgers (Stirling), and predeceased by brother George. The Rev. Arthur served the United Church congregations of: Janetville, Yelverton and Mt. Horeb; Greenbank, Seagrave and Pinedale; Zephyr and Sandford; Hope United Church in Toronto were he retired; and as retired assistant at Glen Ayr United Church. The family will receive friends at the McEACHNIE FUNERAL HOME, 28 Old Kingston Road, Ajax (Pickering Village) from 2-4 & 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, August 22, 2004. Funeral Service at Glen Ayr United Church 55 Brimorton Rd., Scarborough, ON M1P 3Z3 on Monday, August 23, at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service.
