HUNTINGFORD, Arthur A. (Mickey) - It is with profound sadness that I have to announce the passing of my dear husband at the age of 92, on Sunday October 11th, 2009 peacefully and in the privacy of his own home. Son of the late Arhur Waltho and Susannah Huntingford. He will be greatly missed by his beloved wife Gert, sister Gertrude Bodman and his many nieces and nephews and their families, as well as numerous cousins in Niagara Falls. Predeceased by his sisters Ivy Huntingford, Charlotte Evans, Violet Datry and Grace Cox, and by brothers Bill and Jack Cox. Mickey was a World War 2 veteran (B45387 Reg#) of the Italian and European Campaigns. His Canadian Troopship the “Santa Helena” was torpedoed in the Mediterranean Sea and after 4 hours in the sea he was rescued by the American Troopship the “Monterey”. After the war Mickey worked for some time at Silverwoods Dairies and later at Porritt Real Estate. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the G.H. HOGLE FUNERAL HOME, 63 Mimico Ave., Etobicoke, ON. Funeral service on Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the chapel. Interment at Park Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers it is Mickey's request that donations may be made to the Toronto or Ontario Humane Society, The Heart & Stroke Foundation, The Kidney Foundation or to the charity of your choice.
