James Harold MCTIERNAN

McTIERNAN, James Harold - At the North Bay General Hospital, McLaren Site, on Friday October 9th, 2009, after a lengthy illness, in his 96th year. Harold is survived by his dear wife of 43 years, Eunice, and his sons Brian (Donna) and Kevin, all of North Bay. The dearest Grandpa to Julia & Lauren, he is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents James and Susan McTiernan, sisters Alma Fleweling, Iva Jermyn and Wanda Hackenbrook, and brothers Bill, Lloyd and Gordon. Harold served overseas during WWII then had a 38 year career with the CPR. He build his beloved home on Trout Lake in 1968 and tended a bountiful garden and enjoyed preserving the harvest. He was an avid baker, to which many will attest. Harold loved the outdoors, whether it be hiking, camping of photographing nature. He also had a keen interest in bird watching. Harold's family will receive friends at the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME (across from city hall) on Tuesday afternoon and evening from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 pm. Funeral services to be held at 8:00 pm. Cremation at Forest Lawn Crematorium with interment of ashes in the family plot in Terrace Lawn Cemetery.
