KING, Linden Frances Jane 1952-2009 Linden entered her eternal rest, Saturday, October 10, 2009 at her home in Berkeley, CA, Age 57. Cherished daughter of William G. (Bill) King; so loved stepdaughter of Evelyn King (Brantford); dear daughter of Dorothy Main (Winnipeg); treasured sister of Jeff (Dianne) King, (Queen Charlotte, B.C.); admired aunt of Alyssa and Jamie King, (Vancouver, B.C.). Family ties grew even stronger when Jeff and Dianne left their home and business in Queen Charlottte and moved to Berkeley where they cared for and enriched Linden's life right to the end. Linden will be sadly missed by her family and by her friends. She attended the W. Ross Macdonald School where she was valedictorian in her final year. She then attended Brantford Collegiate Institute and went on to Trent University. Her blindness never interfered with her life goals and ambitions. To her it was never a handicap - “only a nuisance.“ From her home base in Berkeley she travelled extensively - living for some time in Australia. Her passion for music was evident by the vast collection of tapes and CDs that lined her apartment walls. She was an avid Braille reader on all varieties of authors and current events. She was an expert computer user who owned almost every new device as it came on the market. Never at a loss for words, she expressed her opinions with amazing insight and conviction. Linden worked in Berkeley for The American Red Cross. One person in this world can make a difference and anyone who knew Linden will never be the same. Cremation has taken place in Berkeley. The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart“ Psalm 34:18
