O'NEILL, John Joseph Hugh “Mickey“ ~ 1919-2009 On his 90th birthday, peacefully, on Wednesday, October 14, 2009. Beloved husband of the late Valetta O'Neill. Dear brother of Margaret (the late James) Timmons. Predeceased by brother Clifford O'Neill. Survived by sister-in-law Betty. Uncle Mickey will be sadly missed by three generations of nieces and nephews. He was a veteran of WWII serving with the Canadian Air Force, finishing active duty in 1945. He served as a turret gunner on the Lancaster Bomber. John was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. #17, Thorold. He worked for the Ontario Paper Mill retiring in 1984. John's family will receive friends at the LAMB-BOCCHINFUSO FUNERAL HOME, 2 Regent St., Thorold on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 21 Queen St. S., Thorold on Monday at 10 a.m. The Rite of Committal to follow at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens, Fonthill. The Royal Canadian Legion Br. #17, Thorold will conduct a Legion Service for Comrade John on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. Vigil prayers will be celebrated at the funeral home on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. Memorial donations in memory of John to the St. Vincent de Paul Society or to the Alzheimer's Society would be appreciated by the family.
