AITKEN, Hannah Sell (nee Morris) - We are sorry to announce the passing of our beloved mother on Monday October 12, 2009 in Toronto in her 97th year. Daughter of the late George Seymore Morris and Mabel Annie Kehoe. Predeceased by her husband Herbert Christie Aitken (1991). Survived by her loving son, Robert Morris Aitken (Marion Ross) and daughter Linda Marie Johnston (late Gordon Johnston and James Kennedy). Dear grandmother of Dianne Aitken and Michael White, Karen and Alan Glennie, Jennifer Kennedy, Christopher Kennedy and Wayne Henry, Kirk and Katrina Johnston, Janet and David Wallace, Barbara Johnston and James Cowan, Nancy Johnston and Julia Dahl and great-grandchildren Maxwell and Jackson White, Amy and Robert Glennie, Bradley and Steven Wallace, Hannah, Charlotte and William Cowan. Predeceased by her brothers, Ellsworth Earl Morris and Frederick James Morris. Survived by nephew Gordon Jackson (Anastasia and son Alex), and niece Barbara Morris (Frankie Alberto) from Massachusetts. She was born on June 9th, 1913 in Newport Landing, (Avondale) Nova Scotia, and lived in Kentville, Nova Scotia, Belleville, Ontario, Kutztown, Pennsylvania and Mississauga, Ontario. Hannah and Herbert loved following the musical career of son Robert travelling to many cities and countries. Her many activities and volunteering included Brownies and Girl Guides of Canada as well as the Mississauga Hospital Auxiliary. The family would like to thank the very caring staff of Fudger House. A memorial service will be held at the MORLEY BEDFORD FUNERAL HOME, 159 Eglinton Ave. W., Toronto (2 stop lights west of Yonge St.) on Wednesday October 21 at 1:30 p.m. (Visitation from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. before service) In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Herbert and Hannah Aitken Music Foundation, New Music Concerts or the charity of your choice.
