CIANCIO, Giacomo - Passed away peacefully on Friday, October 16, 2009 at the Welland Hospital in his 98th year. Nov. 9th. 1911-Oct. 16/2009. Giacomo was born in Castropignano, Province of Campobasso Italy and immigrated to Port Colborne in 1951. Predeceased by his loving wife Elvira Ciancio (2002). Dearly missed by son Nicola Ciancio of Port Colborne. He is survived by his brothers Domenico Ciancio in Rome and Carmine Ciancio in Argentina. He will be missed by his sister-in-law Roquelina Santarella, survived by nephews and nieces Franco Santarella, Roberto Santarella, Maria Di Tizio (Nicola), Rose Santarella, Lina Ciancio in Rome as well as many other nieces and nephews and cousins Eve Czuppon (Stephen) and Fiorina Fabi (Steve). He is predeceased by his parents Nicola and Gioconda Ciancio and cousins Mr. And Mrs. Peter Rivando and Chris Santarella. Giacomo's family will receive friends at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 179 Clarence Street, Port Colborne on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Vigil prayers will be held on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at St. John Bosco R.C. Church at 10:30 a.m. with Father Dave Spengler officiating. Rite of Committal will follow at Mount St. Joseph Cemetery, Port Colborne. If so desired memorial donations may be made to St. John Bosco R.C. Church.
